Meet Lisa


I’m Lisa Goldsmith, the founder of LJ Digital and Data Consultancy. I support leadership teams in not-for-profit and charitable organisations to simplify their digital strategy and allow them to sleep soundly at night, knowing their systems and processes are fit for purpose, compliant, secure and that they deliver value.

I am a highly experienced project manager, data protection officer (DPO) and technical lead with a wealth of skills, knowledge and expertise in administrative management, business analysis, and defining and delivering digital and IT strategies, data management, information and communications technology (ICT) change projects.

I am highly experienced at aligning digital, IT and data strategies with organisational objectives and business strategy to realise operational efficiencies, achieve growth, increase income, cut costs and deliver great user experiences, utilising technology.

  • We enabled organisations to maintain business continuity and operations during the COVID-19 lockdown. Rapid deployment of technologies and upscaling digital and IT infrastructure enabled organisations to:
    • Provide much needed support to children and young people remotely
    • Increase communications channels and collaboration
    • Deliver virtual conferences, events and virtual AGMs
    • Carry out business as usual in the “new normal” with minimal disruption

    • Cut costs, reduce manual administration, streamline, improve and automate business processes
    • Integrate technologies and systems to improve data flow, enhance user experiences and improve business operations
    • Deliver value and great experiences for customers, members, users and beneficiaries
    • Increase marketing and communications capabilities with user journey-mapping, segmentation, targeting and process automation, based on preferences and behaviours
    • Convert 95% of membership to online renewal, which reduced the administration burden by 80–90% and improved cash flow
    • Realise operational efficiencies, streamlining and automating business processes, digitising entire business functions and going paperless through business process re-engineering
  • By significantly cutting costs by reviewing contracts and systems, and procuring fit-for-purpose cost-effective solutions that meet the needs of the business, users and customers. This resulted in £60k reduction in digital and IT expenditure for one organisation and has reduced budgets by up to 45% for another.
  • By enabling organisations to reduce the technical debt inherent in their on-premises technology stack by completing infrastructure audits, planning for and migrating to new servers and cloud environments.
  • We have helped clients to reduce information risk and improve information governance through implementing appropriate security measures and reducing complexity within the technical infrastructure.
  • We have ensured an improved user experience in a variety of systems by carrying out business process re-engineering, increasing data flow, and introducing business process automation.
  • Through a project management framework, we developed processes, procedures (including process flow mapping for decision-making), project documentation (PID, project plan, learning log, business case templates, etc.). This streamlined one organisation’s project management process, combining best practice from Agile and Prince2 and increased collaboration, resulting in successful completion of projects on time and to budget.
  • We helped organisations transition from a place of overwhelm and uncertainty by devising and implementing GDPR and privacy compliance strategies. We carried out audits, gap analysis, identified risks, provided advice to mitigate against risks, data flow mapping, writing governance documentation, writing and implementing policies, procedures, privacy notices, devising and delivering GDPR and cybersecurity training.
